Similar to the world of commercial products, industrial computers are also realized with different types of processors. Once programs are running with the Windows Embedded OS, an x86 CPU is used. As an alternative, Linux is becoming more and more popular on x86 machines. But inside of the sensors, touch-based computers and control units, the ARM architecture is more common. Still, in the market and inside smart cameras / vision sensors, DSPs from Texas Instruments have been very popular. Also, their approaches based on the ARM architecture are becoming more and more popular.
IMAGO follows up this general trend and will introduce so-called personal vision sensors (looking like a smart camera but able to run applications programmed by vision engineers) and embedded vision computers with ARM-based processors inside.
