Have we got anything to add, as traditional manufacturers of Embedded Vision computers? As IMAGO offers ARM- as well as Intel CPU-based solutions, our first step is to advise our customers if the step towards Embedded brings benefits. The keywords here are interfaces – operating system – performance – quantities. This much is certain: Thanks to the Linux operating system, the dual-core ARM computing power of a VisionCam and the SDK compatibility between Intel-Windows- and ARM-Linux-based worlds, porting has become easier and PC computing power is available inside a camera. However, Embedded Vision does not only affect the “front end” with camera head and CPU, but also always the “back end” with machine- and network interfaces. Especially for machine engineering, IMAGO scores with plenty of experience.
