Texas Instruments Keystone VisionBox versus NVidia Tegra

The VisionBox OCTA with its 8-core processor and real-time OS inside is still attractive. One form of proof has been a benchmark between NVidia Tegra K1 and the Keystone architecture. While basic algorithms run faster on the Tegra, a complete vision application was faster on the VisionBox Octa. The reason behind this? Tegra's architecture with ARM + GPU connected to the memory wasn't as powerful as the 8 DSP cores with a fast memory access.
