Texas Instruments Keystone VisionBox versus NVidia Tegra

July 14, 2016

The VisionBox OCTA with its 8-core processor and real-time OS inside is still attractive. One form of proof has been a benchmark between NVidia Tegra K1 and the Keystone architecture. While basic algorithms run faster on the Tegra, a complete vision application was faster on the VisionBox Octa. The reason behind this? Tegra's architecture with ARM + GPU connected to the memory wasn't as powerful as the 8 DSP cores with a fast memory access. Feel free and ask for information about our benchmark experience related to x86, Keystone, ARM A15, ARM A57, ARM A72.
